Our philosophy supports multiple pathways to recovery, including 12-step programs and daily offerings that promote mental, physical and spiritual growth. Making the transition from a substance use disorder to a sober life is not an easy path. The proposals that are selected need to meet CCRI’s current priorities and eligibility categories. The grants are typically used as one-time gap funding for capital projects that increase or improve the stock of affordable sober housing in Massachusetts. Other proposals that provide services for residents in MassHousing-financed rental housing, specifically those that address alcohol and/or drug abuse or addiction, are also considered for funding. Sober House Directory is a helpful starting place to find a recovery home and includes listings for sober houses, recovery residences, structured group homes, and other sober living for men and women in recovery. Sober Living Houses , aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse.

Grant funds will be used for startup costs for the Victory Connector, a new program to provide services for individuals at Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard in Boston. Chapter 40A, Section 3 applies to “safety laws, regulations, practices, ordinances, bylaws and decisions of a city or town” that sober houses in boston would discriminate against disabled individuals.
